‘I’m afraid I’ll be framed’: When Taylor Swift opened up about her fear of being arrested, she said she ‘wouldn’t survive jail’

On an episode of The Ellen Show back in 2014, Taylor Swift opened up about her irrational fears. This included fear of sea urchins as well as serving time in prison. Ellen DeGerenes and the pop sensation had a fun chat about Taylor’s many fears and why they are irrational.

Taylor Swift says her irrational fear is being blamed for murder

On the talk show, Ellen revealed that one of Taylor’s irrational fears was the fear of being arrested. Taylor Swift shared, “I’m afraid I’m going to get set up.” The presenter responded by asking her who could have framed her and for what. To this the singer replied: “Oh, so many people could have set me up. And they can charge you with any crime that could land you in jail. And look at me, I wouldn’t survive prison.”

She shared the fact that this irrational fear is rooted in the fact that there are so many rumors about her that the public will believe. The singer said: “And I think it had to do with the fact that I could open my phone… I could look at my phone and see any headline written about me at any time. And this may be the most ridiculous untruth.”

The Karma singer further added, “And so I think the dream and nightmare of being framed comes from the fact that I can do no wrong. I could sit at home with the cats all day. And somehow there might be an article about me buying a house in a place I’ve never been, or dating a guy I’ve never met.” She continued: “So it’s like… but then you take it one step further. In a nightmare world, he is accused of murder.”

Responding to her explanation, Ellen joked: “I don’t think it’s a step. It’s a leap.” She then reassured Swift by saying, “But either way, I think you’re fine. And I think you would even have fans in prison. And they will take care of you. And they will all love you and you will be okay.
