#IoSonoFisiFvg – Ilaria Billiani – FISI FVG

new appointment with address book #IoSonoFisiFvg Which allows you to get to know the athletes of the committee teams better.
Today the hero is alpine skiing Ilaria Billiani,

name and surname: Ilaria Billiani.
Ski Club: I currently compete for Monte Douda Ski Club.
where do you live? In Gemona del Friuli.
At what age did you first wear skis? Just over two years old.
Did you take a liking to skiing right away? Yes, also because it was inevitable with both my parents being skiers. Since I’ve been born I’ve mostly seen bread and skis, even though my parents have made me participate in many sports.
Have you practiced other winter disciplines? I practiced cross-country skiing, a sport my mother used to practice when she was young. And then also ice skating at Pontebba. I like both of these sports, but never like alpine skiing.
Do you remember the first race? I don’t remember, but I’m sure I was overjoyed.

Who is your coach? My father Gianluca, for friends Billy, he never wanted to force me to ski and 4 years ago I asked him “Dad, why do you train others and not me?” From there I understood that I wanted to do this and it was not and is not an obligation for me. He’s a straightforward instructor in telling you things: It’s black or white, no specifics. Many people ask me how I train with my father: I answer that it is the most beautiful thing in the world, because he knows me better than anyone else and knows how to always bring out my patience. Being an athlete, he has a lot of experience and I trust him blindly. I am very indebted to him because he always helped me in every difficulty.
Where do you think you need to improve? Mainly on the mental factor and, obviously, as long as I am in the World Cup, also on technique and strategy.
What is the most beautiful track you have competed on? in Oberdach, Austria. It was a slalom race. I’ve never skied on a closed slope before, it was a great experience, because I like hard slopes. And overall it’s been pretty good.
And the one you would like to race one day? Hey, in Sweden, because I’ve always wanted to try “Nordic” snow and then travel to those countries.
When and where was the best race of your life? This year in Sappada, two races in one day. I was highly motivated because I really liked the track and then I did so many workouts that I know it by heart.
Who is best friend? Let’s say everyone, no one or no one in particular.
who is your idol? Mikaela Shiffrin.
Is it possible to combine school and sport? Yes, of course, because I go to the third grade of Sports Scientific High School in Jemona. However, it is very demanding, above all because of the many absenteeism.

“See Out” cast

What is skiing for you? my biggest passion. I don’t know what I would do without skiing. It’s a way to let off steam. And again I am indebted to this sport, because it helped me through difficult moments of adolescence.
Do you see yourself in the future as an athlete, coach and simple enthusiast? I would expect a professional athlete.
Classic dream in the drawer? joining the world cup tour,
Favorite Music? I listen to everything depending on my mood.
Favorite singer? Sphera Abbasta, Shiva and The Weeknd.
