Isiah Thomas reveals new wrinkles in historic feud with Michael Jordan

The Chicago Bulls have a long and incredible history, and Michael Jordan is at the center of it. He dominated the NBA for a full decade and was one of the best players in the league for even longer. Jordan had many competitors throughout his tenure with the Bulls, but none quite like the Isaiah Thomas-led Detroit Pistons.

Thomas and Jordan have a history of feuding due to their on-court rivalry. In the 2020 documentary “The Last Dance,” which detailed Jordan’s time with the Bulls, he discussed the Bulls’ rivalry and his dislike of Thomas and the Pistons.

However, Thomas was not as aware of the feud as Jordan was. During the Forbes BLK Summit in Atlanta, he said he learned about it in the documentary. (HT Darnell Mayberry)

“The beef we were supposed to have, well, I didn’t know anything about it until ‘The Last Dance,'” Thomas said.

Additionally, Thomas said he was willing to talk about the beef with Jordan as long as the conversation remained honest.

“I don’t hate anybody. If this brother came here today and sat down and wanted to have an honest conversation — key word, honest — I would.”

Years later, the remnants of the rivalry remain, and unless Jordan is willing to talk about it and put it aside, it looks like things are going to stay that way.
