An evening dedicated to integrated sport at the highest technical and competitive level, with the participation of Olympic and Paralympic champions. This is the hallmark of WEmbrace Sport 2023, a charity sporting event now in its third year. The event will take place on Monday 16 October at 19:30 at the Allianz Cloud in Milan. This year, in honor of the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games, Paris will host an exciting Italy-France competition.
The evening will be presented by a pair of exceptional presenters, consisting of Ilaria D’Amico, journalist and television presenter, and Gianluca Gazzoli, podcaster, creator, radio and television presenter. The management will be Mauro Dell’Olio, director and speaker with many years of experience in the sports events sector. Also present will be Bobo TV, a new digital television that boasts more than 7 television programs, hosted by former footballers Christian Vieri, Daniele Adani, Antonio Cassano and Nicola Ventola.
This year the event will also be able to count on contributions from AC Milan, FC Internazionale Milano, Olimpia Milano, Briantea84, Powervolley Monza, Allianz PowerVolley Milano. WEmbrace Sport 2023 is conceived and created by the non-profit association art4sport, founded in 2009 by Beatriz “Bebe” Vio Grandis, Paralympic foil champion, together with her parents Teresa Grandis and Ruggero Vio.
This year, in the third WEmbrace Sports tournament, Italian athletes will compete with French athletes in four different sports disciplines, each rejected in their respective Paralympic version: wheelchair fencing, amputee football, sitting volleyball and wheelchair basketball . A true meeting and comparison of the Olympic and Paralympic worlds, an event full of fun and entertainment, where diversity turns into opportunity. WEmbrace Sport is in fact an event designed and created to break down the barriers of prejudice and demonstrate the fact that integrated sport is not only possible, but above all capable of maintaining the level of professionalism and competitiveness typical of the Olympic context. Between legends and emerging champions, the public will be able to cheer on their favorite athletes and see the mascot of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games for the first time in Italy.
WEmbrace Sport, which takes place in the city of Milan, is part of the three annual events, together with the WEmbrace Games (in Rome) and the WEmbrace Awards (in Milan), of the WEmbrace movement, that is, “We Embrace”, which through events and projects art4sport intends promote inclusion by embracing and enhancing everyone’s diversity. Charitable goal – proceeds from the evening will be donated to support children and young people with prosthetic limbs, whom the art4sport ONLUS Association has been following and supporting since its inception. Thus, the goal is to provide specific assistance in sports activities through the purchase of prosthetics, wheelchairs and sports equipment.
