Jalen Hurts Starter’s Record: Eagles QB joins Tom Brady, Joe Montana in exclusive club win over Buccaneers

Philadelphia barely lived up to expectations in the game.

The Eagles dominated the Buccaneers defensively from the start and limited the Buccaneers to just three points through the first three quarters.

Philadelphia’s offense wasn’t that sharp, scoring a touchdown on just one of their five red zone drives. However, they still beat the Buccaneers 472-174, with Hurts using his patented “push-push” play to knock the ball into the end zone.

More importantly, Hurts was able to lead the Eagles’ offense downfield with 15 carries, 68 yards rushing, and burned out the game’s final 9:22. That gave Philadelphia a 25-11 victory while their quarterback was dealing with flu-like symptoms.

The win would move the Eagles to 3-0 on the season. They are just one of three NFL teams with this impressive record, along with the Dolphins and 49ers.

Philadelphia’s win at Tampa Bay marked Hurts’ 10th consecutive win on the road, which is the Eagles quarterback’s longest winning streak, CBS Sports’ Jeff Kerr reports. He is also one of only three quarterbacks under the age of 25 to start 10 consecutive road games, joining Patrick Mahomes (11 consecutive games in 2019-20) and Lamar Jackson (2019-20) 10 consecutive games in the season).

That would be the icing on the cake for Hurts, who has become one of the NFL’s most reliable starting quarterbacks during his career.

Hurts Published Records 25-11 in the regular season of his NFL career. That’s good for a .694 winning percentage.

Still, it’s worth noting that Hurts has been in poor shape since the end of the 2021 season. He has won 20 of his past 21 regular-season starts, with his only loss during that stretch coming on Monday Night Football at the Commanders in Week 10 of the 2022 NFL season.

In the Super Bowl era, only six quarterbacks have posted a 20-1 record in 21 starts, CBS Sports’ Jeff Kerr reports. Damage is one of them; the other five are as follows:

  • Jim McMahon
  • Joe Montana
  • tom brady
  • Peyton Manning
  • patrick mahomes

Each of these quarterbacks has won at least two Super Bowls, and they’ve won 17 combined. So Hurts should be very happy with the company he’s keeping.
