Eagles center Jason Kelce won a Super Bowl in 2018. He was selected to multiple Pro Bowls and was an All-Pro.However, being named one of “People” magazine “World’s Sexiest Man 2020” Puts Kelce in another echelon entirely.
Sure, Kelce joins the likes of Patrick Dempsey, Usher, Pedro Pascal, Jamie Foxx, Timothée Chalamet and Lenny Kravitz, but in the past Another name that has appeared on this list for a few years is none other than Tom Brady. There’s no way to know if it’ll stick, but it’s especially rare for a non-quarterback to break into this pop-culture territory.
Kells is like Tom in many ways
Like Tom Brady, who is expected to be inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame for the first time in 2024, Jason Kelce will likely see his bust in Canton. In fact, last year, NFL.com’s Eric Edholm listed Kelce as one of his 11 current players who are expected to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. This has nothing to do with football, though.
Jason Kelce and his brother, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, have been building an empire through their success on the field and their presence off the field. Their popular podcast “Next Levels with Jason and Travis Kelce” plays a big role in the latter.
Remember, before he retired, Brady signed a deal to become the lead analyst for Fox Sports for $375 million over the next decade. While that may make fans chuckle now, it could be a sign of things to come for the Kelce brothers’ careers after football.
Kelce made the team smile on Thursday Night Football
Jason Kelce was on Prime’s Thursday Night Football Live when the Eagles were in their bye week, and the show’s staff and Kelce himself even laughed about the award.
After being greeted and immediately scoffed at the award, Kelce joked, “Listen, I don’t know how it all happened, but honestly, it’s just another day. “My wife keeps telling me, I’m the world Sexiest Man Alive, so I’ve always wondered why it took so long to get nominated. “
He continued: “It’s been a whirlwind and a lot of fun. It’s a win for all the plus-size bearded men out there.”
The Kelsis family’s success continues to expand
It was this charm and sense of humor that helped Kelce create these opportunities to work in front of the camera when he decided to retire. It doesn’t hurt that this year, his brother started dating one of the world’s biggest pop icons, Taylor Swift.
However, Kelce, 36, shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. With an 8-1 record, the Eagles are on track to make another trip to the Super Bowl. In Week 11, we may not only see a rematch of last year’s Super Bowl, but also a preview of this year’s Super Bowl.
If it does happen, the Kelce Brothers could be the first Super Bowl commercial. They’ll be competing against each other again, which will only make Kelce’s name even louder.
Being in the spotlight often creates additional stress and distractions for the team. For these two men, though, the focus and priorities are very much the same: success in football equals success beyond football.
