Jenna Bush Hager has taken a “defensive stance” after she admittedly went “too far” by joking about her romance.
During an episode of Today with Hoda and Jenna, the hosts discussed the “hungiest” things a man can do, prompting Jenna to get candid about her arousal.
Jenna, 41, and Hoda, 59, were reading an article titled “The thirstiest thing a man can do is read” when the former agreed with the statement and even joked that she was “dehydrated” when she saw a man with a book in his hand.
The mum-of-three, who has been married to her husband Henry for 15 years, raised eyebrows as she said seeing a bespectacled man reading a book in the park was a “vehicle for romance”.

The hosts discussed the craziest things a man can do, prompting Jenna, who has been married to her husband Henry for 15 years, to open up about her arousals.
Jenna, 41, and Hoda, 59, were reading an article titled “The thirstiest thing a man can do is read” when Jenna agreed with the statement and joked that she was “dehydrated.”
The conversation began with Hoda commenting that she felt “hot” when the man leafed through the book.
“I get dehydrated when a man takes out a book,” Jenna replied.
Although the conversation started out light-hearted, things took a turn when the 59-year-old host presented a hypothetical scenario.
“Okay, you see a man with a book sitting on a bench in Central Park reading, what do you think of first?” – Hoda asked.
Jenna added, “What if they have little glasses too and they just sit and read and are they reading something that I respect?” I mean, it could be a means to have an affair.
The mother of three immediately retracted her comment and stressed that she was only “joking.”
She added: “I would never. Henry and I are very happy, and he is reading.”
Hoda then questioned why her pal and co-host was getting “defensive” about the comment.

After the fun conversation, the hosts looked through photos of several celebrities, including Ryan Reynolds, Michael B. Jordan and Channing Tatum, who were pictured holding books.
The duo admired Michael as Jenna revealed she was thrilled to see the actor in a tank top sitting next to the bathtub with a book in hand.
The couple then agreed that their lack of interest in reading would be “off-putting”, adding that they wanted their partners to want to go to Barnes and Noble with them.
Jenna met her husband in 2004 while he was working on her father’s presidential campaign.
In the episode, which aired Tuesday, Jenna admitted that her husband played a “hard-to-get” game early in the relationship, adding that it was the “reason” the couple tied the knot.
“There are many (the reason we got married). I don’t want to downplay his outstanding qualities. First, he knew how to try to succeed. And at that stage of my life…” Jenna said.
Hoda chimed in: “Give me an example.”
Jenna replied, “Well, he wouldn’t call every day. I knew he liked me.”
She noted that she could tell Henry was “very good at acting,” adding that she never asked why he wasn’t calling.
The mum-of-three added: “By the way, I think in a committed relationship sometimes it’s nice to put in a little bit of work because you’re reminded of it.”

“He had a seven-point plan: why he wanted to marry me and how he was going to take care of me,” she explained.
“My father says, ‘Henry, I said yes. You don’t have to go through anything else—Laura, Henry suggests,” and that’s it. It’s good that he did it.
