There’s a big difference between being the best college quarterback (like Tim Tebow) and being the best pro quarterback at a particular university.
While McCarthy has performed extremely well and has huge pro potential, Harbaugh didn’t say he would be better than Tom Brady, even though that might be misconstrued.
Still, Harbaugh’s high praise is impressive for JJ McCarthy, as Michigan has seen many great quarterbacks have great seasons behind center over the years. McCarthy’s trajectory surpasses all of them, but Michigan football still has a lot of season left to play this year.
