John Russo on inspiration, life lessons and favorite products

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and John Russo has made a career out of capturing the beauty that surrounds us. Russo is no stranger to the hectic lifestyle, with an A-list client list ranging from Leonardo DiCaprio to Elizabeth Olsen. But when he’s not behind the lens, he enjoys the simple things.

State of mind

“I am very happy and satisfied in all aspects of my life. I am physically passionate about creating fine art, using my camera of course! Mentally I’m on the island of Capri, diving into the sea, and spiritually I’m with my mom and dad.”

Favourite things

Rousseau loves Dove Silky Nourishment Body Cream ($8.95) and Aesop Reverence Aromatique Hand Balm ($33), as well as Blu Atlas Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash ($71). Another of his prized possessions: his favorite work, 100 Changes, a book he published by the world’s leading humanitarians and philanthropists.

Life Lessons

“One of the most important things I’ve ever learned is that I don’t have to work as hard as I used to. I’ve come to realize that time with the people I love is most important.”

morning glory

Sometimes simple is better. For Russo, the ideal morning skin routine consists of a quick wash with warm water, a washcloth, and his favorite daily cleanser, Act ofbeing HP+.
