Kraven The Hunter will be a violent, brutal and bloody film!

Sony Pictures has officially announced that its next Marvel film, Kraven the Hunter, it will not be a simple R-rated film, but it will be a “violent, bloody and brutal!” Something decidedly different from what we’ve seen done with the other films of the Spider-Man universe.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson will play Sergei Kravinoff/Kraven, a big game hunter, and it looks like his part will be truly epic. The actor will be joined by Russell Crowe, who will play his father, Nikolai Kravinoff. Crowe has previously explained that the film is “unexpectedly dark (to put it mildly)”.

During the presentation of Kraven the Hunter to the CinemaConSony Pictures showed the first preview footage in the form of a blood-soaked trailer, with those in attendance confirming it was indeed a violent trailer. A trailer full of images of Kraven brutally killing people and tearing them apart and at one point biting a guy’s nose and spitting it out (just to give you an idea).

In Kraven the Hunter, Russian immigrant Sergei Kravinoff is on a mission to prove he is the world’s greatest hunter. Taylor-Johnson called the project directed by JC Chandor “a Marvel film that is strongly anchored in the real world. We know he is a ferocious hunter, a highly trained assassin.” He then replied to “internet’s biggest question” saying… “Shit, yes, it will be R-rated!”.
