Lady Gaga pairs her new wolf haircut with a sequined jumpsuit worthy of Mick Jagger

Lady Gaga has gone through many fashion phases throughout her career, starting with the avant-garde. Hungry Monster days, to the cabaret dancer aesthetic of her recent Las Vegas residency. But in the last few weeks, Gaga has gone from Josephine Baker to Mick Jagger, ditching the feathered headdresses and bow ties to embrace the dirty glamor of traditional rock ‘n’ roll.

Like all of her different eras, this new glam rock personality has roots. On September 28, The Rolling Stones released the single “Sweet Sounds of Heaven”. Hackney Diamonds – their first album since 2016 Blue and Lonely and 18 years since then Big Bang – featuring Lady Gaga. That same day, Gaga posted a photo on Instagram wearing a yellow 1975 Rolling Stones T-shirt, writing, “Don’t mind me, I’m just a fan.”

The Grammy-winning singer supported the group’s penchant for sequined, leathery, and shaggy hairstyles. She even puts her own spin on some of Jagger’s looks. At a recent appearance at Electric Lady Studios, Gaga wore a pinstriped sequined blazer over a high-neck black glitter minidress and knee-high black leather boots. The stripes draw parallels with the same shiny jacket that Jagger wore to a European press conference in 1973. She emerged from the studio wearing a flowy white blouse, an oversized jacket, short black shorts and knee-high boots that seemed to reference Mick Jagger’s kinks. the classic ruffled shirt that was his staple in the late 1960s.

To mark the occasion Hackney Diamonds Following the release, Gaga wore perhaps her most glamorous look yet: an asymmetrical sequined bodycon jumpsuit with a plunging V neckline and a pair of sky-high platform heels. One side was covered in plain black and had a long sleeve, while the other sleeveless side was red with black diagonal stripes. She completed the look with another Jagger-approved accessory: a thin black sheer scarf with sparkly polka dots. Singing on stage with Jagger and the rest of the Stones, Gaga looked right at home in rock star attire. Hopefully this era of glam rock has a long way to go, because now we’re desperate for a rock ‘n’ roll Lady Gaga album.
