Lakers end 11-game drought against Clippers

LeBron James had 35 points and 11 rebounds, Austin Reeves scored seven of his 15 points in overtime, and the Los Angeles Lakers ended their series against the Los Angeles Clippers with a 130-125 win on Wednesday. The team’s 11-game losing streak.

D’Angelo Russell scored 27 points and Anthony Davis added the same number while grabbing 10 rebounds for the battered Lakers, who have not played in the Florida “bubble” since July 2020. The Lakers defeated their Los Angeles opponent for the first time.

The 17-time NBA champion Lakers haven’t beaten the Clippers on a shared home court since Christmas 2016.

With James Harden on the bench but not yet in a Clippers uniform, Kawhi Leonard scored 38 points in the team’s second loss of the young season.

Paul George scored 35 points, including 20 in the fourth quarter and eight in the final minute, but was ejected for a foul 30 seconds into overtime.

Although the Lakers only fielded eight players due to five injury absences, they overturned an early 19-point deficit and extended their lead to eight points in the final 90 seconds of regulation.
