Lakers executive Rob Pelinka makes bold comments about LeBron James

Since winning the championship in 2020, the Los Angeles Lakers are hoping to return to the NBA Finals. They have everything they need to compete in the Western Conference.

Despite entering his 21st season, the Lakers saw “incredible” energy from LeBron James before the season started. James is widely considered one of the best players in NBA history. There’s no doubt this was a debate between him and Michael Jordan. However, one thing is for sure: The NBA has yet to see a player as consistent as James in his 21st season.

Lakers vice president of basketball operations Rob Pelinka talked about how “amazing” it was to see him attack the offseason with the energy and enthusiasm of a rookie. In addition, Pelinka also talked about James’ commitment to getting to the gym early to train with teammates.

“It’s been great to see him offensively this offseason; it’s almost like his rookie year in the league,” Pelinka said. “He was in our building at six or seven in the morning and worked out a lot with Rui (Hachimura) and some other young guys.

“So I think the energy he has in Year 21 is unbelievable, we haven’t seen anything like it, but it defines his leadership, just the way he works and approaches the game.”

Although he is 38 years old, James has not slowed down. He remains one of two key figures keeping the team competitive. The other is Anthony Davis. King James averaged 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game last season. He continues to impress fans and players alike with his efficient play.

The Lakers will be counting on him to lead the team to the playoffs again, just like he has done with the organization in three of the past four years. The key, though, is staying healthy, as that has been an issue the team faces every year, especially Davis, who has been an integral part of the team’s success.
