Lakers’ LeBron James fires back at CJ Stroud haters amid Houston’s epic start

Houston Texans rookie quarterback CJ Stroud finally appears to be in a career rhythm. He does look like he’s starting to find his groove in the NFL, and he proved it again in the Texans’ 30-6 home win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. A former Ohio State Buckeyes star, Stroud also caught the attention of Buckeyes superfan and Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James, who expressed his disapproval of the Texans signal-caller in an Instagram Story post of support, while also calling out Stroud’s haters.

“Shout out to the haters in the back!!!” James wrote in the post. “CJ is a great player!!” I’ve added.

Stroud Not to his critics There’s a lot of material to process on Sunday. He had an incredible performance for the Texans against the Steelers, passing for 306 yards, two touchdowns, zero interceptions, and hitting 16 of 30 passes. It’s still not the most effective performance, but Stroud is clearly heading in the right direction. It’s also worth noting that Houston did a good job of protecting Stroud, as he was sacked zero times by the Steelers, who often relied on their pass rush to make things happen on defense.

Through four games in the 2023 NFL regular season, Stroud has thrown for 1,212 yards and six touchdowns with zero interceptions. He’s faring much better than Carolina Panthers rookie Bryce Young – the quarterback ahead of him in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Stroud and the Texans look to make it three straight wins in Week 5 on the road against the Atlanta Falcons
