Larsa Pippen has been making headlines recently for dating NBA legend Michael Jordan’s son Marcus.
Larsa is the ex-wife of former Jordan teammate and Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen. She received backlash from fans and media for dating the son of her husband’s former teammate.
As a television personality, Larsa Pippen is no stranger to controversy. She was accused of having an affair with NBA player Malik Beasley while she was married to Pippen, to whom she was married for 19 years. Marcus, meanwhile, is no stranger to controversy. In 2012, he was arrested for disorderly conduct following an argument.
Marcus’ father, Michael, disapproved of his son’s relationship with Larsa because of their 17-year age difference. However, Larsa seems to accept all the criticism and comments surrounding her relationship with Marcus. She posted a photo of herself on Instagram with the caption:
“Not an artist but I attract a lot of attention 🖤”
Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen’s friendship over the years
Jordan and Pippen were the pillars of the Chicago Bulls dynasty that won six NBA championships. Their friendship dates back to the 1980s.
Jordan thanked Pippen when he was inducted into the Hall of Fame, and the next year, Jordan appeared on stage when Pippen was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Over the past few years, however, the relationship appears to have soured.
Some of these issues began to arise when Netflix’s The Last Dance was released. Jordan later admitted that the documentaries may have made Pippen look like a “terrible” guy.
Pippen didn’t like how Jordan was portrayed in the play and let him know what he thought. Pippen said in an interview with the Guardian:
“I think it was more of Michael trying to elevate himself and get glory. I think it also backfired in a way because people got a chance to see Michael’s character.”
Later in his memoir “No Guard,” Pippen revealed his personal opinions, criticizing Jordan and “The Last Dance.”
He said he and Jordan were never as close as described and accused Jordan of using the docuseries to promote himself without giving his teammates due credit. Pippen also made some interesting comments during an episode of Stacey King’s Gimme Hot Sauce podcast:
“I watched Michael Jordan play before I came to the Bulls. You all saw him play. He was a horrible player. It was horrible to play with him. Everything was one-on-one, The shooting was terrible.”
