Let’s say right away: the title of this review is provocative. This is for those who have always considered Lazza to be arrogant, able to rap only on materialistic and frivolous topics. False and superficial photography. “Syrio” is perhaps the most sincere and direct answer. Sure, the Milanese rapper keeps his tamarra soul intact in many situations, but in this third chapter of his career, he reveals more, as well as a more personal and deeper side. It’s a record, as he said in our interview, from a dark period and for that reason has a more melancholic vibe.




This is perhaps the most mature album of his journey, in which he does not change his rap roots, but also experiments and plays with sounds like never before. One of the shortcomings of “Syrio” is the massive and unmotivated use of auto-tuning in some parts, homogenizing the structure of some works.

Tori Lanez and French Montana

The single that accompanied the release of the project was “Ouv3rture”, a song in which the rapper enjoys intertwining rhymes, chasing the piano melody, as if in a struggle between parts (a constant tool in his discography: Lazza studied and learns). pianist) and then explodes in the chorus, in which he rides on a base signed by Lowe Kidd. The second calling card was “Molotov”, in which pop melodies a la The Weeknd sound, accompanying the story of an incendiary story in motion on a colorful carpet of synthesizers and drum machines.

Led by Low Kidd and Drillionaire, “Sirio” oscillates between national and international collaborations, which Lazza has chosen to make the most of his songs: Sfera Ebbasta alternates with the rapper in “Piove”, a very club-oriented dimension; Noyz Narcos is the perfect dark companion to weave a series of raw rhymes into “Topboy”; Geolier paints with his stroke “Nobody”; Tory Lanez, a Canadian rapper with an unsettling style, joins Lazza on “Bugia,” and global star French Montana alternates with Lazza in bars on “Puto.” Space also for songs like “Alibi”, a dive into a single style with a melodic and open beat, and “Bend d’oro”, the project’s darkest face.




New voice solutions

Another special song that stands out from the crowd and is a candidate for one of the best is “Panico”: with a production signed by the duo Takagi and Ketra, the composition is full of sonic details that enhance Lazz in terms of writing pushes him to non-obvious vocal solutions.
