LeBron James has been watching football this offseason. The four-time NBA champion was impressed with Caleb Williams and Shaddell Sanders during a recent game between the Colorado Buffaloes and Oklahoma Sooners.
So far, James has a lot of respect for the two heavily scouted football players, even calling them two future NFL stars in his recent Instagram Story.
Caleb Williams really impressed in this game, leading Fast Lane with a career-high six touchdown passes and 403 yards passing. Four touchdown passes and 371 yards passing.
Both quarterbacks are expected to enter the NFL soon. Caleb Williams is projected to be the No. 1 pick. Meanwhile, Shedeur Sanders should be drafted within the top 6 to 8 picks.
James is a man on a mission, entering his 21st NBA season. After the Los Angeles Lakers made great progress towards the end of the 2022-23 season, they also managed to reach the NBA Western Conference Finals before losing to the then-champion Denver Nuggets.
NBA training camp will begin on October 3 this year, and the Lakers will conduct a total of six preseason games from October 8 to 20. The regular season will begin on October 14, when the Lakers will face their old rivals the Golden State Warriors.
LeBron James could have been an NFL star himself, but Charles Barkley doubts it
LeBron James is 6 feet 8 inches tall and built like a linebacker, and many people say that if LeBron James chose football instead of basketball, he could even have great success in the NFL.
While most people believe this, Charles Barkley expressed doubts that James and NBA players in general would find it difficult to succeed in the NFL.
“It pisses me off that this guy thinks he can play football,” Barkley said on The Dan Patrick Show about whether LeBron James can be a good football player.
“He played football in high school because he was better than everyone else. One thing about being a pro is you’re not bigger or faster than everyone else,” Buckley said. “But honestly, most of my NBA players aren’t tough enough to play,” Barkley added. “They’re not. No disrespect intended. Basketball players aren’t like that.”
Barkley’s doubts about LeBron James playing in the NFL are valid, it’s all hypothetical. Compared to the NBA, the NFL is obviously a more physically demanding league.
