AKRON, Ohio — LeBron James’ path from basketball prodigy to NBA scoring champion will be commemorated where it began.

LeBron James’ Home Court, a museum dedicated to James and his many milestones, will open in Akron on November 25.

The museum will offer a multimedia experience that includes a reconstruction of the apartment where he lived with his mother, Gloria, as well as items from his childhood, high school playing career and championship runs with the Cleveland, Miami and Los Angeles Lakers.

The museum is located in House Three Thirty, a facility created by the James Foundation to serve the community in which he grew up.

“My dream has always been to put Akron on the map, so having a place in my hometown where I can share my journey with fans from around the world means a lot to me,” James said. “I’ve held on to a lot of stuff over the years, and I always knew there would be a time and place to get it out.”

Items on display include the all-white suit James wore in the 2003 NBA Draft, a McDonald’s All-American Game jersey and an original backboard and basket from St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, James first came to the attention of basketball fans as a teenager.

Four-time NBA champion James will turn 39 next month and enter his 21st season as a professional player. Last year, he surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the league’s all-time scoring leader.
