One of the funniest moments of the Dodgers’ season was Los Angeles’ Sunday Night Baseball game against the San Francisco Giants in late September. They let veteran infielder Miguel Rojas use the microphone on the field, which led to some hilarious interactions.
During a routine fielding play, Rojas apologized to the broadcast booth while talking to them so he could get the guy out.
This led to Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James saying on Twitter that he wished there were more microphone moments throughout the season. James seemed inspired by what Rojas had done and wanted to do the same.
James was inspired by this during the second game of the in-season tournament against the Memphis Grizzlies. He prepared for this game and did a good job of what he wanted to do this year.
James seems to be enjoying himself this season and going with the flow. He remains determined to win at the highest level, but he may also be feeling the pressure of impending retirement.
He does this to make the game more interesting for himself and the fans. It gives us an idea of what’s happening on the pitch and what people are saying.
Luckily, the Lakers were playing their best game of the season against Memphis and he was on the mic, providing plenty of entertaining content. It was a great game and one that Los Angeles ended up dominating from start to finish.
They’ve struggled all season, so this is a nice change of pace. Rojas gave James the idea, and it’s always fun when inspiration strikes.
The Los Angeles team usually finds a way to work together to support each other, and to some extent, they did so again. Hopefully we’ll see more mic moments from both teams in the upcoming games.
