Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James heaped praise on Caleb Williams and Shadre Sanders after their intense matchup during USC’s game against Colorado State on Saturday.
The Trojans came out strong in the first half and took a 34-14 lead en route to the victory. However, Sanders and Buffalo made the game interesting in the second half as they staged a spectacular comeback to make the game more intense. Colorado lost 48-41, but it was certainly a game to remember.
Williams completed 30 of 40 passes for 403 yards and six touchdowns. Sanders, meanwhile, completed 30-of-45 passes for 371 yards and four touchdowns.
This is truly a historic quarterback battle that has even elicited the admiration of players like LeBron.In his Instagram story, James shared a video Williams and Sanders expressed their respect for each other after the game. The NFL posted the news with the headline: “See you on Sunday,” referring to both quarterbacks’ futures as pros.
James agreed and responded to the post, saying: “Fact! 2 future NFL (stars).”

While Caleb Williams is largely projected to be the No. 1 pick. Shedeur Sanders, the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, remains a big question mark. While he’s shown incredible talent in the first four games of the season, fans and experts alike want to see more of how he performs against other ranked schools.
However, after Saturday’s performance, Sanders certainly proved to everyone that he belongs in today’s conversation among college football’s top quarterbacks.
Of course, it remains to be seen whether Sanders will make the jump to the NFL next year. There are rumors that he may remain in Buffalo under the tutelage of his father, Deion Sanders.
