Your smile immediately disappears when you look across the field and see a 6-foot-8 receiver who can run and jump better than anyone on the field.
This is LeBron James’ high school football experience. We’ve heard about his brilliance on the field for years, and now new video brings it back into focus.
LeBron was a star wide receiver in high school
Known for his size, speed and strength, it’s no surprise that King James excels at football. He is the No. 1 football prospect in Ohio and has been described as a “ready-made” NFL wide receiver and a “slower version of Randy Moss.”
He only played two seasons in college football before focusing all his attention on basketball. In those two seasons, he had over 100 catches, over 2,000 yards and 23 touchdowns.
What if LeBron James played football?
With his athleticism, King James will likely play football at the highest level. Jay Brophy coaches LeBron on the St. Vincent-St. Louis football team. Mary told Bleacher Report that he had college football offers from “all the major schools,” such as Notre Dame, Miami, Alabama and Ohio State.
In addition, when the NBA was suspended in 2011 and the season failed to start on time, James received an invitation from a real NFL team. He was offered contracts by Jerry Jones of the Dallas Cowboys and Pete Carroll of the Seattle Seahawks. LeBron has no doubt that he can make an NFL roster if he puts his mind to it.
“I could have made this team,” James told The Athletic in 2021. “One thing is, I don’t mind working for something, so if I had to try out for the Cowboys or the Seahawks, or if I’d stay home and go back home to Cleveland, I’d give it a try, But I will make the team. I just know what I’m capable of doing on the football field. “
