YouTuber AA9Skillz has defended Cristiano Ronaldo, saying the talismanic captain recently scored two goals in Portugal’s 3-2 win over Slovakia in the European qualifiers. His strike in front of goal against Porto ensured the Selecao’s promotion with the remaining games of Group J.
Goncalo Ramos opened the scoring for Portugal before Ronaldo converted a penalty kick and scored his 125th international goal. While David Hanko and Stanislav Lobotka managed to score for the Slovak side, it was not enough to stop the Portuguese.
Amid this, Cristiano Ronaldo’s name has become the subject of discussion, with doubters claiming the veteran striker is past his prime. However, popular YouTuber AA9Skillz lambasted critics who labeled Ronaldo a “whitewash” in a recent video (via YouTube):
“I see a lot of people saying it’s time to bench Ronaldo, he’s been eliminated. Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 73 goals after turning 30, more goals than England, France, Germany, Spain and More than anyone in 181 other countries,” he said.
“Cristiano Ronaldo has scored more goals after turning 30 than your team’s opening goals. So you all need to stop acting like Ronaldo is finished. This guy is scoring crazy goals after turning 30 . Let that person cook,” he added.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s current numbers in the Saudi Professional League confirm his surge in support. So far, Ronaldo has only participated in 8 games and has scored 10 goals and 5 assists.
