When asked by L’Equipe about the possibility of playing for Argentina in 2026, Messi was reluctant to completely rule out the idea.
He said: “The 2026 World Cup? It seems difficult given my age at the time – but we’ll see.”
At 36 years old, Messi is still playing at an extremely high level and his record with Inter Miami is as impressive as most fans expected.
He has scored 11 goals and provided five assists in just 14 games for the Herons since joining in July.
It’s not impossible that he would don the blue and white Albiceleste jersey three years later.
