Former Camp Nou hero Luis Suarez has been linked with a reunion with Barcelona great Lionel Messi at Inter Miami and the pair’s families appear to be in close contact
Lionel Messi’s wife may have accidentally revealed that she could reunite with old friend Luis Suarez and his partner in the United States in the coming months.
The former Barcelona pair enjoyed a stellar spell together at Camp Nou between 2014 and 2020, maintaining a close relationship both on and off the pitch. Speculation that they could join forces again at Inter Miami has grown in recent months, with Suarez’s contract at Gremio confirmed. It expires at the end of the year.
Rumors of the former Liverpool ace heading to South Beach have only been helped by the arrival of two other former Reds and Blues stars following Messi’s move to the United States. Now the World Cup winner’s wife Antonella Roccuzzo appears to be openly eager to meet Suarez and his partner Sofia Balbi.
Antonella marked Sofia’s 34th birthday by posting a throwback photo on Instagram of the two enjoying a girls’ night out together in Catalonia. The photo’s caption read: “I miss you! We have to update our photos, which could be taken as a subtle hint of an upcoming reunion.”

Suarez has previously spoken of the close bond between the two families, saying: “The friendship with Leo (Messi) is always off the pitch, on the pitch everyone has their own goals,” adding “With women “Go out to eat together” is a plus because you know your wife will be there when you go out with friends, which can be difficult. ”
It remains to be seen whether the foursome can resume their apparently close relationship early next year in Florida. What is certain is that Suarez is currently expected to leave his current club in December after Gremio agreed to take a year off his contract.
Since then, the former Barcelona striker has continued to leave his mark on Porto Alegre, scoring 26 goals in 49 appearances in his only season with the club. The 36-year-old forward also recently scored a hat-trick in the 4-3 win over Botafogo.

Although Suarez has maintained his goalscoring exploits in Brazil, he has admitted that his knees have been troublesome in recent times and cited this as the reason why he cut his contract short in July. “I feel like I won’t be able to compete next year due to my physical condition and the high demands of the Brazilian Championship,” he previously explained.
Miami coach Gerardo Martino has said he and his coaching staff are ready for the Uruguayan’s arrival. He did not deny the possibility of David Beckham acquiring Suarez’s services, although he did admit that a deal for the veteran striker was not yet complete.
Speaking at a press conference before the end of the season, he said: “In our analysis of the upcoming season and the needs we might have, we analyzed Luiz and the situation without Luiz. So we analyzed it. , when the time comes regarding Suarez’s situation with Inter Miami officials, we will be ready to move in the corresponding direction.”
