Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic believes Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan is the greatest player in NBA history.


Doncic renewed his contract with Jordan Brand this offseason. The Mavericks All-Star became Jordan Brand’s first signature athlete born and raised in Europe in 2019.

Jordan is widely regarded as the greatest player in NBA history. He won 6 championships, 6 Finals MVPs, 5 regular season MVPs and 10 scoring titles with the Bulls in the 1990s. The Bulls led by Jordan achieved a 6-0 record in the Finals and achieved three consecutive championships twice.

Jordan averaged 30.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game in his career with the Bulls and Washington Wizards. Jordan was selected to the All-Star 14 times, to the All-NBA Team 11 times, and to the All-Defensive Team 9 times. Jordan is one of three players in NBA history to win MVP and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season.


A Hall of Famer, Jordan ranks fifth in NBA history in scoring, first in points per game, third in steals and first in player efficiency. He holds the playoff record for most points scored in a game (63 points).

Jordan’s current net worth is $3 billion. He is the first professional athlete to rank among the 400 richest people in the United States.


Last season with the Mavericks, Doncic averaged 32.4 points, 8.6 rebounds and 8.0 assists per game, shooting 49.6% from the field, 34.2% from beyond the three-point line, and 74.2% from the free throw line. The 24-year-old had 36 double-doubles and 10 triple-doubles in 66 games.

If Doncic is selected to the All-NBA Team this season, he will be eligible to sign a five-year supermax contract extension in 2025, estimated to be worth $318 million. Doncic signed a five-year, $215.2 million designated rookie contract extension with the Mavericks in August 2021.
