“The wounds contain maggots… and the situation is catastrophic”, with these words a Palestinian nurse described the tragic health situation in Gaza hospitals.

A nurse named Raghda Sammour wrote in a post on her “Instagram Story” account, “The situation has become difficult beyond what you can imagine. Do you know how the cases have become in Al-Shifa hospital?”, adding, ” maggots are starting to emerge due to lack of change and lack of cleanliness.”

He also said, commenting on images of the conditions of the injured widely circulated on social media accounts, “Every injured person experiences catastrophic pain.”

For her part, Palestinian Health Minister Mai Al-Kaila declared on Thursday that the health situation in the Gaza Strip is in a state of complete collapse, underlining that the bombings are targeting all places, hospitals, mosques, churches and reception centers.

He added in a statement published by the Ministry of Health on its Facebook page that the Israeli attack cost the lives of around 11,000 Palestinians, two-thirds of whom were women, children and the elderly, as well as wounding another 26,000.

The minister indicated that 18 out of 35 hospitals have stopped functioning due to Israeli shelling and fuel running out.
