Magic Johnson sends warm note to ‘brother’ Michael Jordan on special day, love and respect shine through

As the basketball world’s eyes focus on All-Star Weekend this Saturday night, Magic Johnson sent his best wishes to his friend Michael Jordan on his birthday. This year, the six-time NBA champion is 61 years old, and it’s time to once again look back at the wonderful memories this legend has left for us! Of course, there were plenty of birthday wishes for Jordan on social media.

The Los Angeles Lakers legend joined millions on social media by sharing four throwback photos of the pair from different eras and penned a touching message. The title of the post is, “Happy birthday to my brother and the best basketball player of all time, Michael Jordan! “I love and respect you so much and I pray God blesses you with more!”

The two met once before in 1991, with the Chicago Bulls eventually defeating the Lakers to win the championship. Jordan also won the MVP in the Finals. The two basketball greats teamed up for the historic 1992 Olympics as part of the esteemed “Dream Team.”

Although fans expect fierce competition between these giants, Johnson once revealed in an interview that their partnership is more about mutual respect than competition. “I don’t have a chance to hate Michael, but we’re good friends. I love MJ and what he stands for and everything he’s built, not just on the court but off the court. “He’s in business, so it’s great,” said the three-time NBA MVP.

Fast forward to 2024, and fans will even be thankful to see photos of Johnson and Jordan enjoying dinner together. Last year, the pair were spotted together on Johnson’s annual summer vacation in Europe. Next, we saw another heartwarming message from the star.
