Lily Gladstone’s participation in Killers of the Flower Moon saw Martin Scorsese break his casting habitshow he reveals Leonardo DiCaprio. In the film, out Oct. 19, Gladstone plays Molly Burkhart, an Osage Native American married to Ernest Burkhart (DiCaprio). The two actors will be joined by Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, Tantu Cardinal and John Lithgow.

“Lily is absolutely amazing in this movie. It carries the whole film and the whole story. There was no script reading. Marty instinctively knew it was Lily. There was a sincerity in her eyes that he also saw on the computer screen. I’ve never heard of Scorsese meeting someone and immediately feeling so attracted to them that he said, “Let’s not wait another minute.”
