THE Marvel Studios celebrate the Infinity Saga on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As The Direct reports, the studio is brandishing a 15th anniversary logo, which surfaced on Reddit. The logo is reportedly complementary to the upcoming release of new Collector’s Editions of concept art books commemorating the ten-and-a-half-year MCU milestone. Includes a giant “15” in red lettering that reads “15 Years of Marvel Studios, The Infinity Saga.” The style isn’t without precedent, as Marvel did something similar for the MCU’s 10th anniversary in 2018, placing a “10” in the lettering before the release of Black Panther, Ant-Man and the Wasp And Avengers: Infinity War.
The main sagas of the MCU
The Infinity Saga represents the overall storyline of Phases One, Two and Three of the MCU, spanning 23 films. The saga has gone from the first film of the MCU, Iron Man of 2008, up to Spider-Man: Far From Home of 2019, which represented a sort of epilogue. It has included some of the most successful tentpoles of all time such as the Avengers franchise, most notably 2018’s Infinity War and 2019’s Endgame, which are the fifth and second highest-grossing films ever, with 2.05 and 2 respectively. 79 billion dollars. In addition, popular live-action film franchises such as Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk and the aforementioned Black Panther.
Since then, the MCU has moved on to a larger storyline, referred to as the Multiverse Saga. It started in 2021 with Phase Four, which launched with the series Disney+ Wanda Vision and continued on the big screen with the Black Widow Of Scarlett Johansson. The ongoing saga introduced the concept of the Multiverse, which has been expanded significantly in the Disney+ series Loki (imminently returning) of 2021, leading to the introduction of The One Who Remains, a multiversal variant of Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors), the MCU’s next big villain, fittingly debuted in the recent Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania. This saga will continue through Phase Six, culminating with the two Avengers movies on the big screen, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty And Avengers: Secret Warsplanned for 2025 and 2026, respectively.
