Marvin Harrison Jr. wears LeBron James against Maryland

Ohio State Buckeyes star receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. caught footballs for another day and continues to grow his reputation as one of the best college players in the country. It’s no secret that LeBron James is a huge Ohio State fan, and the star receiver decided to pay tribute to the honorary alumnus with a custom pair of modified Nike shoes. The Ohio State Buckeyes hosted Big Ten rival Maryland yesterday in a game that seemed a little too close for Buckeye fans. After being tied 10-10 at halftime, Ohio State took a three-point lead into the fourth quarter and scored 17 points away from the Terps. Marvin Harrison Jr. led all players in catches and receiving yards, catching eight passes for 163 yards and a touchdown. Harrison currently has 25 catches for 499 yards and four touchdowns this season.

Harrison Jr. also looked good wearing a full-back low-top version of the Nike LeBron 4 at the Terps secondary game. We’ve seen plenty of players, including USC quarterback Caleb Williams, wear similar shoes, but none have been as sentimental about LeBron James as the man who wore them. Fellow Buckeyes were equally sentimental.

LeBron James has been a huge donor to the Ohio State University athletic department, with his branding on a large amount of their gear. His son, Bryce James, just received a basketball scholarship after recently taking an official visit to campus during a football game. Clearly, Marvin Harrison Jr. knew he had to pay homage to the King.

Nike will actually be releasing a version of the sneaker called the Nike LeBron 4 “Anthracite.” This is a model from years ago that Nike has confirmed will be returning for the upcoming holiday season. What do you think of this on the football field?
