They didn’t win the Mirrorball Trophy in Season 30, but Sharna Burgess’ engagement ring from Brian Austin Green proves they didn’t leave the dance floor empty-handed. But what did his ex-wife Megan Fox think?
Burgess is a former professional dancer, Hon. Dancing with the Stars – and Green, an actor best known for TV series such as Beverly Hills, 90210 And Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles — began dating in 2020 after Green split from his ex-wife Megan Fox. A year later, Green was announced as a participant in the competition. Dancing with the Stars Season 30 with Burgess as his partner.
Burgess and Green were eliminated in week three, but their relationship continued beyond the dance floor. On September 23, 2023, Burgess and Green announced their engagement after three years of dating. “Our final chapter,” Burgess captioned an Instagram video of herself holding hands with Green and his children. (Green has sons Noah, Bodhi and Journey with Fox, and son Cassius with ex-girlfriend Vanessa Marcil.) In 2022, Green and Burgess welcomed their first child, Zane. Burgess wore a diamond engagement ring on his ring finger.
The video also included audio of poet Whitney Hanson writing a poem reflecting Burgess and Greene’s relationship. “They say that sometimes love starts with a spark / And that may be true / But if I wished you love / I wouldn’t wish you fire / See the fire is strong / It burns bright and goes out / It’s nice and warm, but it’s not matters,” the poem says.
The poem continues: “So instead of wishing you love that burns, I wish you love like a river that twists and turns / It changes and flows powerfully and freely / That it always returns to this / And just like the water I I hope your love is always growing, always changing / I hope your love is strong and free / And may you always find each other as a river finds the sea.”
In the comments to the post, Burgess thanked Hanson for the poem. “Thank you @whitneyhansonpoetry for this incredible poem that perfectly describes our ideal, enduring and strong love ♥️.”
Green explained that only her “closest friends and family” knew about the engagement until the news broke. “It actually wasn’t that hard to keep it a secret,” Burgess said. “But it was actually nice to keep that moment to myself and not make an announcement out of it.”
She continued: “Honestly, at first it even occurred to me, ‘How are we going to announce?!’ And that’s not even the point for us. But it got to the point where I was like, “I don’t want to keep trying to flip the ring or take it off, but we’re going to be in Vegas on the carpet and I want to wear it!” »»
Green also said Entertainment tonight that his children were “very happy” about the engagement. “They were part of the proposal,” Burgess said. “It was really beautiful.” On their Oldish podcast, Green and Burgess explained that Green proposed to her at a surprise party Burgess threw him for his 40th birthday in July 2023.
“The kids come along with it,” Burgess said. “Noah is holding Zane and Journey is holding this little red Cartier box. And they all come there, stand next to Brian, and he takes the Journey box and says, “Would you spend the rest of your life with us?” I just looked at him like, “I can’t believe this is actually happening.”
As told by Burgess Entertainment tonight proposals “I think we were all excited about the proposal. I think, honestly, Noah was the most emotional. (But) everyone was so excited.”
She continued, “Honestly, everyone has been waiting for this moment for I think a while, and it’s finally happening,” she shared. “It was definitely an emotional moment for me and sharing it with my favorite people feels so beautiful and right.”
As for his ex-wife Megan Fox’s opinion of his engagement, Green spoke. Entertainment tonight, “She’s very happy for us.” He continued: “She really was amazing. I mean, we’re so lucky. We encountered zero friction and zero problems with the kids just by being together and with her. And co-parenting was great for her. We’re so lucky to be able to talk about these things.”
