Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther) will soon be teaming up again. Their upcoming project has an interesting vampire twist.

A vampire movie starring Michael B. Jordan?

Michael B. Jordan directs fourth 'Tenet' movie

The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news that Coogler and Jordan would be teaming up for a new project. The project has yet to be titled, but Coogler wrote the script and will direct. Notably, this is the first spec script Coogler has produced through his company, Proximity Media. The only other book he ever wrote was “Fruitville Station.”

The project has many secrets. The Hollywood Reporter noted that executives and buyers were “forced to make a pilgrimage to WME’s Beverly Hills offices” last week to review the script. Their report does note that the project is a “genre” feature that “includes horror and its subsets, as well as thrillers, science fiction, and even fantasy,” and that there are “period elements” in it.

Now, The Insider’s Jeff Snedier has a big update. The Coogler-Jordan project is said to be about vampires.

Vampire movies are very popular these days. Last year, “Reffield” and “The Last Voyage of the Demeter” were released. Later this year, Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu will be released. Add Coogler and Jordan’s upcoming projects to the mix.

Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan begin with the former’s directorial debut, Fruitvale Station. This movie made him famous. They then teamed up again for “Tenet,” the first film in the Jordan-led “Rocky” spin-off series.

Then, in 2018, the duo had their biggest success story yet: Black Panther. The MCU film grossed over $1 billion at the box office and was nominated for seven Oscars (winning three). Jordan will make a brief cameo in the sequel Wakanda Forever.
