Michael Jordan leaves the realm of foe Tiger Woods and joins Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos after earning $3 billion

Michael Jordan was the first professional athlete to become a billionaire. As a basketball player, his greatness transcended the game of basketball, eventually becoming a global icon and symbol of “victory.” He achieved incredible success off the court through endorsements and other successful business ventures, quickly establishing him as one of the greatest sports success stories of all time.

Michael Jordan joins Exclusive Elite club

Michael Jordan recently sold his majority stake in the Charlotte Hornets for an “eye-popping” valuation of $3 billion. In 2010, he purchased the NBA team for $275 million, and after selling his majority stake, the Chicago Bulls legend made more than $2.7 billion in profits.

Michael Jordan’s huge success in three events during his lifetime made him one of the richest men in the world. His unprecedented influence as a player, an owner, and ultimately through the development of Nike’s “Air Jordan” brand made him an extremely wealthy man.

Jordan’s entrepreneurial journey “off the court” created a wealth of space between him and his NBA peers. His keen entrepreneurial acumen coupled with a “conquer” attitude have made him one of the most successful entrepreneurs of our time. An avid sports fan, Jordan also owns professional sports teams such as NASCAR and the Charlotte Hornets (still a minority owner).

His love for golf also led him to open an exclusive golf club called “GROVE XXIII” in Florida. Jordan invited close friends such as professional golf legends Ricky Fowler and Luke Donald. Speaking of golf legends, Michael Jordan is also a close friend of Tiger Woods. Despite their close friendship, the legends’ friendship eventually fell apart.

How Jordan and Tiger Woods’ friendship fell apart

Many consider Michael Jordan to be the greatest basketball player of all time. Tiger Woods is considered by many to be the greatest golfer of all time. With their talent and admirable work ethics, these two legends have amassed huge wealth for themselves during their careers.

The two have a relationship that goes back decades. Despite coming from different fields, the two legends always complimented each other in public. In a famous interview with Jordan in 2004, he even admitted that if he had seen Tiger Woods play as a child, he would have pursued golf! Tiger Woods once mentioned in an interview that he will be “the Michael Jordan of golf.” He even mentioned in interviews that Jordan was almost like a big brother to him.

However, in 2006, Tiger Woods experienced the death of his father, which had a profound impact on him. In 2009, it was revealed that he had an extramarital affair with another woman while he was married to Elin Nordegren. The incident completely shattered his otherwise spotless public image.

After both incidents, the golf legend retreated into his privacy, maintaining minimal contact with all his friends, including Michael Jordan. However, although their friendship has changed over the years, the two old friends have remained in touch.
