Miguel Cabrera continues to continue his legacy through Major League Baseball. The 2023 season meant saying goodbye to his current roster, and as time went on, he reaffirmed his incredible career in the major leagues.
As with every Major League Baseball season, the Roberto Clemente Award is presented, presented to the player who has made the best contributions on and off the diamond. Each organization nominates a player to win the individual award. so:

“Cabrera’s philanthropic work with the city of Detroit began in 2008, and he was instrumental in launching Play Baseball Detroit, a transformative youth baseball outreach program to support youth baseball in the metro Detroit area and softball programs, reaching more than 10,000 children annually.

In 2017, “Miggy” established the Cabrera Family Scholarship Endowment Fundunderscores its dedication to educational empowerment by awarding two annual renewable college scholarships to first-generation college students in Michigan and South Florida.
In response to the COVID-19 crisis in 2020, Cabrera and his wife, Rosanger, donated $250,000 to provide critical resources such as meals for children, technology for students, in-home child care, and quality services for Detroiters Face mask.
In 2021, Maracaiello served as co-chair of the Protect Michigan Commission with Governor Gretchen Whitmer to promote COVID-19 vaccinations in Michigan, recording public service announcements in English and Spanish to motivate residents to get vaccinated, Wear a mask and maintain social distance to reduce the spread of the virus.
Cabrera will be confirmed as the Tigers’ nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award during a pregame ceremony prior to Detroit’s game against the Cleveland Guardians on Friday, Sept. 29.
