  • Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown shared her passion for carrots in a recent interview.
  • A video about her love for them, which says: “The dirtier the better,” has exploded online.
  • Some viewers were confused by Brown’s appreciation for the “earthy” flavor.

Millie Bobby Brown is the talk of TikTok after the true extent of her passion for carrots, especially dirty ones, was revealed in a video interview.

On September 22, British media outlet UNILAD began posting a series of TikTok videos of its interview with Brown, taken from an 11-minute conversation with the actor that was published the same day on YouTube.

While the longer version only attracted 41,000 viewers, the shorter interview snippets racked up millions of views each on UNILAD’s official TikTok, but by far the most popular was Brown’s enthusiasm for the orange vegetable.

In the clip, which has received 8.3 million views, Brown is seen eating carrots while analyzing the different versions of the vegetable provided to her by UNILAD. She ditched the shredded carrots in favor of baby carrots, but her favorite turned out to be fully intact carrots with the green tops still attached.

“They’re great,” she said. “The dirtier the better!”

Brown went on to say that her mom told her she ate “dirty carrots” when she was pregnant with her.

“I don’t really like it. Then it seems to me that I am drawn to unwashed carrots. But it tastes earthier,” she said.

The video received more than 2,900 comments, many of whom were confused by the whole thing, especially coupled with the section at the end where Brown said she hated ranch dressing and rejected it.

“I don’t like ranch but I’ll eat carrots covered in dirt,” one viewer wrote in response, receiving 24,600 likes.

Many comments also compared Brown’s delight in discussing dirty carrots to a character from the British animated series Wallace and Gromit, apparently due to the stereotypical British demeanor and the characters’ enthusiasm for mundane things.

“The smile she made after she said ‘the messier the better’ was so Wallace and Gromit coded,” read the most popular comment on the video.

Some TikTokers expressed their overall reaction to the video, which ranged from declaring their love for Brown to complete amazement, while one user turned the carrot clip into a fancam montage with visuals and a soundtrack dedicated to the actor.

Brown, who rose to fame playing Eleven in the Netflix series Stranger Things, has demonstrated a lifelong love of carrots. Last November, she said it was her favorite food during an interview with Wired, where she answered questions related to common internet searches about it, and in 2020, Brown opened up about her love of vegetables and how she sorted through “industrial-sized boxes” of carrots for a set, in a conversation with fellow actor Louis Partridge published by Glamor.
