Health Minister Marciano Gómez announced this morning that the number of Valencians vaccinated against influenza in the three provinces of the Autonomous Region of Valencia has exceeded the total number of people vaccinated against influenza during the entire vaccination season last year, exceeding 1,130,000.

At a meeting of the information club Alicante Forum, the Minister of Health attached great importance to this information because, in addition, the vaccination campaign is not yet over, as it will last until February 29 next year.He compared the 1,130,000 vaccinations to last year’s campaign’s total of 1,090,000 vaccinations and said the situation “Better than last year” yes “satisfy”.

Regarding influenza, he explained that the incidence of acute respiratory failure in the community has fallen slightly recently, to 1,297 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, which is still higher than the national average, which is around 1,000 cases.

Gomez emphasized “As long as it’s not a gradual taper for three weeks in a row.” None of the preventive decisions that have been taken will be mitigated, such as the use of masks in social and health care centres, he also recalled that the incidence is higher in some health areas, such as the province of Venalopo, where the incidence is approx.
