Guatemala City, November 3 (AGN). – Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance (MSPAS) Continue to invite people to take care of themselves during this cold season.
To avoid respiratory illnesses, MSPAS has shared a series of prevention recommendations with the public.
- Dress warmly and wear a sweater, socks and a hat
- Protect yourself from cold temperatures
- Avoid prolonged exposure to cold and sunlight
- Take care of the health of your family, especially children and the elderly, by covering your mouth with a mask or scarf
- Stay hydrated because in cold weather you lose more water when you breathe and sweat evaporates faster, which is why we encourage you to drink more water.
- Eat well, fruits, vegetables and nuts are recommended
- Go to a health care provider if you have symptoms such as a cough, sore throat, runny nose, or fever
- Do not self-medicate
When dark clouds appear, prevention takes center stage. 🌧️☂️
