Lara Croft returns for another journey around the world in the first teaser for the upcoming Netflix anime series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft.
The show, which was first announced in 2021, takes place after the events of Square Enix’s video game reboot trilogy – Tomb Raider (2013), Rise Of The Tomb Raider (2015) and Shadow Of The Tomb Raider (2018).
Agent Carter and Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning star Hayley Atwell voices the iconic archaeologist, who we see in the teaser wielding a bow and arrow, diving into dark caves and finding mysterious artifacts.

The teaser is short and there are few plot points, but we know that the series will release sometime next year.
Meanwhile, Lara is also set to return in live-action form, with Fleabag’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge helming the Prime Video adaptation.
The actress and writer, who recently starred in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Doom alongside Harrison Ford, previously teased that her series will have a ’90s vibe.

“The opportunity to play a female lead in an action movie, having worked on (No Time to Die) and having worked as an actor on (Indiana Jones), I feel like I was preparing for it,” she said.
“What if I could take over an action franchise with everything I’ve learned, a character I adore, and just bring back some of the ’90s vibe? It’s such a wonderful feeling to think you know what to do. “
Waller-Bridge’s show will introduce fans to the third live-action Lara Croft, previously played by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander. Vikander was set to reprise the role in the sequel to her 2018 film Tomb Raider, but it was dropped last year.
Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft will premiere on Netflix in 2024.
