According to a recent study, the actual earnings of a video with one million views on TikTok is maximum of 40 euros. This is the maximum amount the app pays creators for a single video. However, the real revenue for creators comes from sponsors and advertisers.
The more visibility a person has, the more companies are interested in sponsoring their products in their videos. For this reason, many young people try to become famous on TikTok, trying to increase their followers thanks to tricks such as duets, using the latest filters or through specific hashtags.
Additionally, in 2020 the application launched a $200 million initiative called Creator Fund to support the most innovative video creators. In summary, TikTok pay the creators for their videos, but only if the channel has at least 100,000 followers when joining the Creator Fund and had at least 10,000 views in the last 30 days.
However, despite the difficulty of making money with TikTok, the growing number of users on the platform facilitates the increase in followers and views. TikTok is in fact the fastest growing social platform in the world, with an increase of 1,157.76% since 2018.
The money earned through the application can be debited directly from your bank account, so it is not a virtual currency to be used only on the app, but real money. While there have been some complaints about creators’ low earnings, it’s important to note that TikTok videos can be made in seconds, with no special processing or preparation.
Most viewed video on TikTok, “M to the B – Millie B” by Bella Porch, lasted just 10 seconds and reached 675 million views. This proves that you don’t need advanced technical means or backgrounds of skyscrapers or yachts to become popular.
