Five years after Cardi B and Nicki Minaj’s infamous fight at New York Fashion Week, rap rivals’ husbands Offset and Kenneth “Zoo” Petty are now embroiled in a legal battle.
On Wednesday, the Central District of California judge ordered Kenneth to wear a home monitoring device and serve 120 days of house arrest for threatening Offset on social media on September 16, according to a report from THR.
The 45-year-old Queens native’s public threats, including “you’re going to plan your own funeral, asshole,” violated the terms of his probation for failing to register as a sex offender in California in 2020.
Petty, who joined viral videos by a group of men – previously served a total of 11 years in prison for the abduction of a 16-year-old girl in 1995 and the shooting death of a man in 2002.
“We’ll get you, nigga. We know where you are, how are you? Let’s go to. Let’s talk, motherfucker, nigga,” taunted a so-called “music industry professional” outside a Manhattan hotel.
“Nobody’s hiding here, man. We’re outside. We’re ready, nigga. I run this shit, niggas keep playing with me Let’s play, man, do you want to play? It’s all fun and games until we want to play too… This whole gang might suck… Up North, I scared you, boy!’
The 31-year-old Georgia rapper then reportedly responded with a video hinting that Kenneth was broke: “I’m getting off the plane. He’s funny.’
On Wednesday, Offset (born Kiari Cephus) was too busy celebrating his sixth wedding anniversary with his “beautiful, gorgeous, pretty” Grammy-winning wife of 30 years at one of their three mansions.
Meanwhile, Petty’s Grammy-nominated wife of 40 years took up Twitter on Wednesday for a laugh: “You should really catch me before I care.”
On September 30, Nicki (née Onika Maraj) and her husband-turned-manager will celebrate their son “Papa Bear”‘s third birthday.
Minaj was just 16 when she first met Kenneth, and the couple celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary on October 21.
