They are known as one of the most down-to-earth couples in Hollywood.
So it’s no surprise that Nicole Kidman, 56, and her husband Keith Urban, 55, led a much more laid-back lifestyle when they returned home to Australia.
Nicole touched down in Sydney on Sunday, reuniting with Keith and their daughters Faith, 12, and Sunday, 15, at the airport before driving to a local church to attend a service.
While many A-listers were reluctant to worship among strangers, Nicole and her brood happily stood in the pews with other members of the public.
After the service, the family were seen leaving the church with other churchgoers, with Nicole looking stylish in a long black dress and sunglasses.
New Zealand-born country singer Keith, meanwhile, looked casual in a plaid shirt and navy trousers.
A day later, Nicole and Keith were spotted mingling with locals as they picked up burgers, chips and kombucha drinks at a burger joint in Sydney’s coastal suburb of Avalon.
Swapping her red carpet looks for a casual shirt and jeans, Nicole could easily be mistaken for a local shopper.
She hid her famous red locks under a cap with strands blowing in the wind and accessorized with a pair of white sneakers.
Meanwhile, Keith opted for all black, wearing a graphic print shirt, track pants and a sports cap.
During their stay in Sydney, Nicole and her family will likely live at the sprawling Latitude development in Sydney’s Milsons Point.
Nicole and Keith currently own five apartments in a building overlooking Sydney Harbour.
In May, it was reported that the couple spent $7,725,000 on their latest purchase of the quarter, a three-bedroom apartment on the 15th floor.
They first bought Latitude in 2009, buying a penthouse for $6 million and then spending $2.68 million on an apartment down the block.
In 2022, they paid $1.35 million for a one-bedroom home on the fourth level, which they will reportedly use as a private gym.
While the couple’s Sydney schedule is unknown, it is likely they will spend a lot of time with Nicole’s 82-year-old mother Janelle, who recently faced health problems.
Nicole first confirmed her mother was unwell in 2022 after flying to Australia to spend some time with her.
In an interview with the Fresh Air podcast at the time, Nicole revealed that she was able to visit the Art Gallery of New South Wales after hours during her visit.
“We are here first and foremost to take care of my mother and for her to be surrounded by her grandchildren,” she said.
“Fortunately, yesterday, despite Omicron raging across the country, we were able to take her to the gallery after hours and show her the Matisse exhibition, which, coming from the mother who raised me in art, was a soothing balm.”
Later in the interview, Nicole said she was honored to see the world through her mother’s eyes, calling it “very rewarding.”
Nicole will also no doubt meet up with her younger sister Antonia and her six children while she’s in town.
Nicole and Antonia maintain a strong bond and are often seen together when Nicole visits Australia.
