Olivia Wilde has spoken out about the backlash she faced after sharing a post that suggested the frenzy surrounding Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce could be directed toward more important issues.

Earlier this month, Wilde, 39, faced backlash after posting a tweet on her Instagram Stories that read: “I wish Taylor Swift was in love with a climate scientist.”

Speaking to a reporter on Sunday, Wilde said she did not intend to hurt anyone’s feelings, but only intended to make a statement about how much attention is paid to “stupid things.”

“I didn’t mean any harm.” Obviously it’s a commentary on how much attention is paid to stupid things,” she said as she left the Studio City Farmers Market.

Online critics didn’t hold back after she shared her tweet earlier this month, even dragging her ex-boyfriend Harry Styles into the conversation.

Swift and Kelsey first met each other a little over a month ago, but the NFL star is reportedly already in love with the pop star.

On Saturday, the two flew back to New York together on Taylor’s private jet and then hit the city for two PDA-filled dates on Saturday and Sunday.

Earlier this month, Kelsey’s mom Donna Kelsey visited the Today show and opened up about her first meeting with Swift.
