March 4, 2024 health authorities China 3 cases of human HIV infection reported Influenza A(H9N2).
- The first case was a 3-year-old boy from Guangxi Province who started showing symptoms on February 2, 2024.
- The second case is an 11-year-old boy from Jiangxi Province who developed symptoms on February 11, 2024.
- The third case is a 3-year-old boy from Guangdong Province, with the date of onset of illness on February 17, 2024.
All 3 cases had contact with poultry, but no secondary cases occurred. Since the beginning of 2024, China has reported 4 cases of influenza A H9N2. Since 2015, 96 cases have been reported, including 2 deaths.
