During press promotion Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan had the opportunity to tell a delicious anecdote about the making of his film.
Interviewed Entertainment Weeklythe famous director said that he received a kind of gift from Emily Blunt at the end of filming on Oppenheimer: a pair of Ugg slippers. It was an ironic revenge of the actress, who, in between filming, wore these shoes on the set so as not to always wear women’s shoes of the forties (not very comfortable). Except that since Nolan wasn’t a big fan of Uggs, he was constantly making fun of Emily Blunt. For this, the star decided to take revenge in her own way, trying to drag the director into “in worship” lovers of comfortable shoes.
He gave me a pair of ugg boots – actually ugg boots – as a gift after filming. The people who worked on the set know how it works: we are there, the lights go out, “Ok, we need actors” and sometimes they come straight from the wardrobe, but they wear these big coats over their stage clothes and they wear these big ugg boots because the character’s shoes are uncomfortable. You know, shoes from the 1940s.
