Oppenheimer Christopher nolan became a stunning blockbuster, grossing ever-increasing sums of money at the worldwide box office and selling out IMAX screenings in countless cities. Nearly a month after its theatrical release, Oppenheimer is now close to hitting the box office milestone.
From Wednesday, August 16, Oppenheimer is on track to become the highest-grossing film ever to top the domestic box office. This record was previously held by lonely 2016 for a total of $270,395,425, but (at the time of writing) Oppenheimer only $400,000 is left before this milestone is passed.
Oppenheimer its global total is currently over $577 million. The film has already made the list of the ten highest-grossing R-rated films of all time. IMAX has already announced plans to continue screening the film until the end of August given the huge demand from moviegoers.
