Osakidza opens flu vaccination appointments to general population

Osakidza started a flu vaccination campaign for the general public on Monday. Starting this Monday, you can request an appointment by calling the User Service Center toll-free number 900 20 30 50, the Osakidetza website or by calling the Health Center. Vaccinations will begin next Monday, November 6. .

The slogan of the Ministry of Health of the Basque Government and Osakidetza is “Prevention is better than cure, get vaccinated”, which aims to reinforce the idea that vaccination is the most effective tool to obtain immunity and fight against diseases.

Since the start of the vaccination campaign for people over 60 years and high-risk groups in Osakidza on October 9 at the Basque Health Center, a total of 449,739 vaccine doses have been administered, of which 249,265 were influenza and 200,474 COVID -19 vaccine.

So far, 185,011 people have chosen to receive both influenza and COVID-19 vaccines at the same time, accounting for 74.2% of those vaccinated at the same time. In terms of reservations, the total number of reservations was 316,736, including 90,378 for seniors aged 80 and above and 6,159 for children under 5 years old.

As last year, Osakidetza offers influenza and COVID-19 vaccines to the population and has begun offering vaccines to groups most at risk of complications and those over 60 years of age.
