Penelope Cruz made rare comments about her sister Monica, who looks a lot like her.
The 49-year-old Oscar-winning star. Together with her 46-year-old sister, she has designed a capsule collection for Geox in the spring or summer of next year.
When asked if she and her sister influenced each other’s style, Penelope replied: “Yes, a lot, to the point of taking a lot of clothes from each other’s closets.
“We wore the same thing sometimes when we were little girls.”
Cruz then said she and Monica would hide “in the bathroom together, sit on the floor with magazines, draw on top of the drawings and change them.”
Cruise, who previously dated Tom Cruise, added: “So that was always our main game and fantasy.”
Monica is so similar to Penelope that she stood in for her during scenes in the film Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in 2010.
Penelope then raved about the brand and the opportunity to work with her sister on something they are so passionate about.
She said: “I’m also very grateful that I can create another collection with my sister because we’ve done it off and on with different brands over the last 20 years.
“This is something that keeps happening here and there. So we’re very grateful as we continue to learn from these great brands.”
Previously, the sisters designed a collection of jewelry and bags for the Japanese fashion house Samantha Thavasa.
Cruz and her sister created two collections for Swiss retailer Charles Vögele in 2010 and 2011.
The spring/summer 2011 collection, called Biaggini Violett, is now available in Europe.
In 2013, the pair teamed up again to design a lingerie line called L’Agent for British lingerie retailer Agent Provocateur.
She also modeled for Agent Provocateur’s Fall/Winter 2012-2013 campaign.
In November 2012, the sisters signed a three-year contract with the Spanish luxury fashion house Loewe, taking part in advertising campaigns and designing a handbag for the brand.
In 2018, she launched the Rock Star for Majorica jewelry collection.
Monica is a Spanish actress and dancer.
She starred in the films Inquest, The Final Hour, Jerry Cotton and Cross of Iron.
Cruz also said that she believes her zodiac sign is the most important factor in her fashion decisions.
When the stylist asked the actress what is more important in her outfits: creativity or comfort, Penelope replied that her style choices are often determined by the stars.
The Vanilla Sky star, who was born April 28, 1974 and is a Taurus, said: “It’s a combination. We, kind Taurus, are very visual, so we admire beauty.
“Combining that with comfort.
“Especially, I think, if you have children. My life is spent with them all day long, as well as my work, I think it becomes very important.
“Of course, I always like heels, but, you know, that’s not my everyday life.
“I’m very happy with the sneakers we developed (for Geox). I think they’re cool, but they’ll be very comfortable.”
The 49-year-old actress shares 12-year-old son Leo and 10-year-old daughter Luna with husband Javier Bardem.
