Piers Morgan reveals Katy Perry’s disturbing ‘nickname’ for Russell Brand

Piers Morgan said in a recent column that Katy Perry got her nickname after her ex-husband Russell Brand, who is currently facing charges of rape and sexual assault.

Joint investigation released over the weekend Channel 4Sunday Times And Time Brand, 48, allegedly kidnapped, sexually assaulted and abused four women between 2006 and 2013.

Brand categorically denied the charges brought against him.

In his latest article for Sun published on Tuesday (September 19), Morgan, 58, recalls meeting Perry, 38, on Vanity Fair party in Washington, D.C., in 2013—a year after her divorce from Brand.

It is here that Morgan claims that Perry referred to her ex-husband as “Rasputin,” the infamous Russian mystic and holy man known for his influence over the Tsars and his legendary sexual exploits.

Morgan claims Brand was “ecstatic” when he learned the nickname his ex-wife had given him. “Grigory Rasputin! He was quite a powerful guy, he could manipulate people with his eyes,” Morgan said Brand told him. “I like Rasputin… he was all right, wasn’t he… a mad monk with magical, mystical powers, having fun with everyone, drinking and fighting.”

Independent Perry and Brand’s reps have been contacted for comment.

Brand is currently married to writer Laura Gallagher, sister of Sky Sports presenter Kirsty. The couple has three children.

Meanwhile, Perry has been engaged to actor Orlando Bloom since 2019, and the couple have three-year-old daughter Daisy Dove.
