One of Disney’s producers left the door open for Johnny Depp’s return to the franchise.

The actor has been focusing more on his legal troubles than his film work lately, but now Disney Studio Motion Picture Production president Sean Bailey has spoken out about the possibility of Depp returning to the franchise.
Speaking to The New York Times, Bailey briefly hinted at the story behind the franchise’s next film. Pirates of the Caribbean and talked about the possibility of Depp’s return, and while he didn’t confirm the actor’s presence, his response seems to leave the door open.
“We think we have a really good and exciting story that does justice to the previous films but also adds something new.Bailey said. Then, speaking specifically about Depp, Bailey said:at this point we don’t want to go too far“, which is a sign that an agreement with the actor does not yet exist, but this still cannot be ruled out.
