VATICAN CITY, February 28 (EFE) – Pope Francis today went to the Gemelli Hospital on Tiber Island in the center of Rome for treatment some diagnostic tests.
That’s because he explained after Wednesday that he still had a cold, despite previous reports that he had the flu.
The Vatican confirmed:
After the general audience, Pope Francis went to Gemelli Isola Tiberina Hospital to undergo some diagnostic tests. He then returned to the Vatican.
Francis arrived at the center in his usual vehicle and returned to the Vatican less than an hour later.

During another bout with bronchitis, the pope went to receive a computed tomography (CT) scan at Tiber Island Hospital, a branch of the Gemelli Polyclinic where the pope works.
The pope had previously held an audience with thousands of people in the Vatican’s Paul VI Hall, but said he still had a cold and wanted the catechism to be read by a collaborator.

Last Monday, the Vatican reported that Mild flu-like symptoms despite no feverBut the planned hearing has been suspended as a precaution.
The pope celebrated the traditional Angelus prayer on Sunday, leaning out of the window of the papal palace and reciting it in a good voice before thousands of worshipers gathered in St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican.
At the end of November, the Pope fell ill with bronchitis and had to cancel some events. He celebrated the Angelus privately and had a collaborator read the speech instead.
In order to allow himself to recover, the Argentine pope canceled his planned trip to Dubai for a climate summit in early December.
But he later fully recovered and even went to the Plaza de España on December 8 to pay homage to the Immaculate Conception in the traditional way.
